Materiales Para La Historia Del Deporte is an academic journal dedicated to the study of sports history, providing researchers with a platform to explore and analyze the development of sports history. This magazine covers a wide range of topics, including the origin and development of sports, as well as the relationships between sports and society, culture, education, and politics. By publishing high-quality research papers, this journal aims to promote a deeper understanding of sports history and provide valuable knowledge resources for the academic community. This magazine has a certain influence in the field of sports history research. The magazine also focuses on the relationship between sports heritage and sports, exploring four types of sports heritage: tangible immovable sports heritage (such as sports venues, monuments and memorials, landscapes), tangible movable sports heritage (such as museums and halls of fame, events), intangible sports heritage, and marketing and management of sports heritage.

It not only focuses on the history of traditional sports, but also on the development of emerging sports, such as the history of water rescue in Spain.
