The Journal of Himalayan Earth Sciences (JHES) is a semi annual academic journal managed by the National Center of Geological Excellence at the University of Peshawar in Pakistan. JHES is recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and is in the "X" category. This journal mainly collects research articles related to the field of earth sciences, including sedimentary geology, igneous and metamorphic geology, geochemistry, geographic information systems/remote sensing related to natural disasters, earth environmental issues, earthquake seismology, engineering and exploration geophysics, and other topics. Especially, papers related to the above-mentioned disciplines in the Himalayan region will be given primary importance and relevance.

JHES follows a double-blind review policy and is managed by an academic editorial committee with relevant doctoral degrees and strong research and publishing backgrounds. Editors or editorial team members are not allowed to publish articles on JHES. In addition, JHES does not publish more than one-fifth of the total articles per issue from Peshawar University in Pakistan. The journal strictly adheres to the similarity index limit set by HEC, which is below 19%.
