Semantics & Pragmatics focuses on publishing high-quality, original, self-contained research articles that involve the semantics and pragmatics of natural language. The core target audience of the journal is academic linguists, but it also publishes material from philosophers, psychologists, and computer scientists, or research related to these fields. Papers must contain new results of interest to semantics and pragmatics workers, and must have clear implications for theoretical developments in these areas.

The journal welcomes submissions on core topics in semantics and pragmatics, as well as papers in interdisciplinary areas such as syntax, phonology, psycholinguistics, text and corpus studies, discourse and conversation analysis, computational semantics, vocabulary, historical linguistics, cross-linguistic typology, logic, and philosophy of language.
